We often waste our time thinking, what happens to us after extended periods of time, such as one or five years. Rarely it happens that we get excited of making changes everyday, of being a better version of ourselves DAILY. If you improve yourself by only one percent everyday, after a year, you will end up being 37 times better. And if you manage to continue this growth, you know for sure five years down the line, you will be a completely transformed person.
1.Health
Without a good health, one cannot achieve anything. Focus on your health everyday. Start exercising for 10 mins a day and with every passing day, add a minute to it. Drink atleast 2.5 – 3 litres of water everyday. By taking care of your health in your 20’s you are eliminating the risk of several lifestyle diseases.
2.Sleep
Most of us tend to sleep very late at night and as a result wake up late. Repeating this for a long period of time means you are skipping your first meal of day which disturbs the normal biological cycle of the body. Make an attempt to wake up 5 minutes earlier till you automatically wake up at 6 am.
3.Read
It is very easy to get lost in the endless feeds of the social media apps. But don’t quit everything at once. If you are finding hard to read books, start with web articles. Check out websites like WIRED, aeon.co, Newyorker and read atleast one article everyday. It will help in enriching your knowledge, vocabulary and your reading speed.
4.Limiting social media usage
Unchecked social media usage can last till four to five hours a day, till you get mentally exhausted and cannot do anything else. Take the help of apps like YourHour and reduce your usage by 5 minutes everyday. Even Instagram now comes with its own usage reminder feature, hence use it properly.
5.Work/Study
Study your material for five more minutes every day. Doing this regularly, you will find it easy to finish your assignments, meet the deadlines and increase your overall productivity. There will no hurry to finish everything at once and you will be left with ample time for revision.
6.Helping others
Spend an hour every week to help others in some way. It can be teaching, donating anything they need or even small gestures such as smiling, showing appreciation of their efforts. Leaving a positive impact on others’ lives will make you feel better and make you a much better person.
